The primary function of the Director of Sales – Strategic Accounts is to lead the Strategic Account Managers to profitably grow the business relationship between Tenneco and the assigned customers to the goals established by Sales Management. This position is responsible for leading product merchandising, marketing and promoting the sale of all Tenneco products for assigned customers.
The Director of Sales establishes and drives results in all areas relating to, but not limited to, revenue and unit AOP achievement, sales and margin expansion projects executed, customer specific advertising budgets and planning, collaborative inventory planning and projects (S&OP process), cataloging, pricing, warranty, training and contract maintenance, compliance and negotiations, and sales management updates.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead Strategic Account Managers to profitably grow Tenneco business within the assigned strategic accounts.
Oversee all Strategic Account Managers’ business plans and account activity.
Understand and communicate information on all Tenneco product lines.
Effectively manage contractual agreements relating to terms and conditions of sale; pricing, returns, credits and deductions.
Implement marketing programs.
Develop, implement and execute customer business plans.
Lead major projects and coordinate internally with appropriate cross-functional business unit leaders.
Work with Business Insights and customers on market analysis to identify potential growth opportunities
Resolve all customer issues while balancing customer delight against solutions in the best interest of Tenneco.
Manage in the best interest of the company all assets assigned and utilize good judgement in the commitment and spending of company funds.
Utilize interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with company, customer and industry personnel.
Strong written, and oral communication and presentation skills.
Strong computer skills, especially Excel and Power Point
Self-starter; must demonstrate ability to develop and / or execute business and sales plans.
Minimum 10 years experience in leadership Automotive Aftermarket
MUST have a Minimum 10 years of Retail Sales & management experience in automotive aftermarket
