Gates Corporation has an opportunity for a Regional Sales Manager to be based in the Chicago, IL area. This position is responsible for the development and execution of a successful sales cycle across a region, selling the core line of Gates products and services. Proactively execute strategies to build a productive sales team using a wide variety of consultative sales techniques.
Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accomplish corporate goals.
Utilizing a strong understanding of the customer’s business and a collaborative relationship to be able to drive the customers sales utilizing Gates products and services
Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by managing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
Advises dealers, distributors, clients and direct reports concerning sales and advertising techniques to assist in promoting sales of Gates products.
Delivers sales presentations to key clients individually and in coordination with sales representatives.
Meets with key clients in assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
Prepares weekly, monthly and quarterly sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed product expansion.
Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition and coaches direct reports on how to better utilize market data.
Directly supervises 15-20 Territory Sales Managers located in multiple states and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
5+ yrs industry experience
Demonstrates an understanding of the broader organization, and how their role and/or function fit into the strategic plan and overall direction of Gates.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Demonstrates excellent organization skills
Proven experience in leading a sales team remotely
Demonstrated ability to drive and report metrics
Must be proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint).
Automotive Aftermarket sales experience a plus.
The travel required for this position is 50%.
