Les Schwab Tires has an opportunity for a Senior Buyer reporting directly to the Vice President of Purchasing based out of our headquarters in Bend, OR.
You’ll have an opportunity to join a dynamic team managing all aspects of the procurement process and be responsible for purchasing tire products sold through our Tire Centers. If you are a team player who is able to influence others, enjoys focusing on multiple opportunities, competitive, driven, creative and an outside the box thinker, then this opportunity may be for you.
Manage all aspects of procurement, including but not limited to pricing, market testing, costing, contract management and freight. Ensure proper pricing records are maintained and shared with the appropriate members of the Purchasing and Pricing team.
Determine the appropriate resale products / store supplies and suppliers based on product demand, quality, availability, price, and exclusivity.
Manage inventory replenishment process to ensure high fill rates meeting our customers’ needs.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field. Masters or MBA preferred.
5 or more years of purchasing, engineering, or related experience in automotive or commercial vehicle tire and component operations fulfillment.
Experience with replenishment software and systems.
Ability to read and understand technical specifications related to tires, wheels and chassis components.
Negotiation and interpersonal skills interfacing with suppliers, tire store personnel and distribution center employees.
